Managing Partner, Michael R. Benoit: Prior to founding Makaira Venture Partners, Michael was active in private equity investing as an angel investor, board member, mentor, technical adviser and strategic partner. Michael serves on the board of Mtuitive, Spirus Medical, Cardiosolutions and AngioLink. He also helped found and chair Bay Angels, LLC, an angel group focused on seed level investment. Michael was the founder and CEO of Vista High-Tech Resources, Inc., and was at the helm of the company for 15 years before it was sold to Compuware in 1999.
General Partner, Steven Tallarida: Steven has been President and CEO of STD Med, Inc. for 23 years. STD Med has become a prolific incubator and is the launch pad for a number of novel med-tech start-ups in the Northeast. He has been an active board member of seven different companies and is named on 12 patents in the fields of cardiology, orthopedics, oncology and hematology.
Principal, Ronald Murphy: Ron has over 25 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking and institutional sales of equity derivatives and alternative assets. He spent 12 years at Merrill Lynch Capital Markets group and has gone on to work for some of the premier health care investment banks including UBS, Piper Jaffrey and Cowen and Co. and is FINRA Series 3,7,9,24 and 63 registered.
